Pedal Circles
Purchased for what, $650 (?), in 1986. Thousands upon thousands of miles on her, and at least as many memories. Finally rebuilt, just a set of vintage wheels from retro completion.

Bike handling at its finest.

First Post

I wonder how many tumblrs get only this far: a “first post” and then, nothing.

We’ll see how I do, but I’m going to try to take Len’s suggestion and start “jounaling.” Or whatever you might call this, and I may as well do it online as anywhere else.

In the words of Major Morant: “See that these get published, will you? We poets do crave immortality.” (If you haven’t seen the movie Breaker Morant, please do.)

Here are a few of the things I’d like to capture on this tumble-log (jumble-bogged?) thing:

1. My love for being a father. And, therefore, my love for my two daughters.

2. My love of biking specifically, and of being out-of-doors, as they used to say, generally.

3. The pain of a broken heart.

4. The value of friendship.

5. Desire.

And other intangibles, I suppose. Perhaps with a few tangible things thrown in, too, since in order to get anywhere near any of those previously-listed inchoate items I’m going to have to improve my writing proficiency radically. Though maybe it doesn’t matter, since I bet no one in their right mind (or left brain) will ever read any of this. It’s not porn, now, is it? What’s the interest?

And so, it begins.
